A large percentage of small-to-medium businesses are operating without a website. The figures below clearly show that having an online presence is vital to business & profits growth.
The Score Association, a non-profit organization of Small Business Counselors & Mentors (supported by the Small Business Administration of the USA), has recently released figures showing that only 51% of small businesses have websites, despite the fact that 97% of consumers search for products and services online.
Moreover, if we talk about the small businesses that do have websites, we see the following picture:
– 82% are not using social media
– 70% provide no call-for-action to encourage consumers
– 93.3% of the sites are not compatible with mobile devices
– 27% don’t even include a phone number to reach the business
And the number of people in the United States who shop online is around 75 million.
The point is, if a company or a small business doesn’t have an online presence, they are missing a HUGE percentage of the population that could be their customers.
